Weekly Hand-building Classes

Tuesdays 4:30-6pm

Sundays 11:30-1pm (this class is currently full)

Sundays 1:30-3pm

$30/person. Materials and firings included.

Classes are open to all ages and abilities. We focus on hand-building techniques, pinch, slab, coil, and sculpting. Classes are generally small in size and Shana works with each student to create their projects. Most beginner students start with simple bowls, mugs, vases, etc. Some students come to class with project ideas, or get inspired by the many different forms around the studio. Classes are weekly and students are welcome to come weekly or when they can. Pay as you go with no commitment to number of classes.

The process:

After creating pieces, they have to dry and be bisque fired before painting. Students are then able to paint/glaze their projects at another class, before a second glaze firing. People who can’t make it back sometimes choose to have their pieces glazed by Shana and shipped, for an additional fee.

It can take 3-4 weeks (occasional longer) to get back a finished pieces. They are food safe, dishwasher, and microwave safe.
